Artful Parenting 101

An Online Course for Parents Wanting to Raise Creative Kids

Is there a disconnect between how you’d like to foster your kids’ creativity and what you’re doing now? Between the creative household you want to see and the house you see around you today?

I can help…

This summer, I’m offering an online course and community to help you become the artful parent you want to be, enhancing your children’s creativity so they can become innovative doers, thinkers, and problem solvers.

Artful Parenting 101

An Online Course for Parents Wanting to Raise Creative Kids

June 13–August 19, 2016

In this brand-new online course, I’ll guide you to be the best artful parent you can be, with reverberations that will benefit your parenting journey—and your family’s life—long after this fun, 10-week course ends.

Each week, I’ll guide you through a fundamental topic for successful artful parenting, such as:

  • Creating an Artful Home Environment
  • Matching the Art to the Child
  • Art for Playdates, Groups, & Parties
  • Nature Inspiration & Art
  • Teaching Drawing Skills & Techniques
  • Making Space for Messy Art
  • …and more!

You’ll also get handy PDF Worksheets and Printables to help you through the process and an active Facebook Group, where you and other course participants can ask and answer questions, get encouragement, find accountability, and share success stories. Plus, I will host a Live Online Discussion each week on the selected topic.

In addition to the Artful Parenting 101 lesson of the week, you’ll receive ::

  • An accompanying Resource Guide to go with the lesson
  • An inspiring and attractive Quotation to print out and hang on your wall
  • 2 Creative Activities for your kids, including a process-oriented art activity (such as drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, or sculpture) and an additional creative activity (such as a craft or recipe)

Artful parenting and artful living encompass ALL aspects of life. They're not just about doing art activities.

Some of the lessons in the ARTFUL PARENTING 101 course may resonate with you and your children (and where you are in your parenting journey) more than others.

Totally fine and understandable!

You can take this course at your own pace.

Save some lessons for a later date, if need be. And if you skip a week (for whatever reason), you can catch up at another time or revisit a topic whenever you wish.

The course materials are yours to keep, use, and refer back to again and again, any time.

This is YOUR course, YOUR summer, and YOUR artful parenting journey.

And now for the BEST part…

As I mentioned above, this is a brand-new course. I’m developing it as we speak, and will continue to shape and refine it all summer.

I'm giving it my all and fully expect it to be extremely helpful and fun.

I know the material inside and out, as I’ve written two books on the subject as well as over 1,500 blog posts. However, this is the first time I’ve put my knowledge and enthusiasm into an eCourse format. So since this is technically a beta run...

I’m offering this eCourse to the Artful Parent community at the low price of $39 this first time only.

I’m also offering LIFETIME MEMBERSHIP* to this first group of participants. (In doing so, I’m hoping you’ll give me your constructive feedback, either as we go or at the end of the course.)

I invite you to participate in this fun and life-changing online course, help shape it, and get lifetime membership at this special introductory price.

All you need to do is click the ENROLL button below and you’re on your way to joining my ARTFUL PARENTING 101 eCourse and becoming the artful parent and creative family you want to be.

NOTE :: This ARTFUL PARENTING 101 course is open for enrollment only through Monday, June 13, 2016, at 11:59pm EST.

*Regarding lifetime access… For those of you who take ARTFUL PARENTING 101 with me this summer, you’ll have the opportunity to re-take the same course (with all updates and additions) whenever it’s offered again in the future. So, as I develop and refine ARTFUL PARENTING 101, you can benefit from my changes and from the repetition and our supportive online community.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this course for?
This course is designed for parents and caregivers who want to raise creative kids. The material is best suited for those with children ages 1 through 8.
I live in the UK (Australia, Switzerland, etc.). Is it ok to sign up for your course?
Yes, absolutely! That's the beauty of an online course. :) You can take it from anywhere!
I would love to do this with my children but don’t feel creative or good at art. Is this a good program for me?
Absolutely! You don’t have to feel confident in your own artistic abilities in order to foster your children’s creativity. In fact, this course would probably be perfect for you as I think it would give you tools and strategies for encouraging art and creativity in your household (plus the confidence to do it more regularly). It might even help you with confidence about your own creativity…
I love your site & books! If one already has your books, is it still worthwhile to take the course?
If you have and use my books and my blog extensively, and don't need help with integrating the material into your life, then you probably don't need this course. If you would like some help in making creativity a priority, with action steps and a supportive, like-minded community, then I think you could benefit from the course, even if you have my books and read my blog. I think it mostly depends on you and how much you have incorporated art and creativity into your family's life on your own... If you're still not sure, fee free to sign up for the course and try it out! If it's not for you, you can ask for a refund within the first 30 days.
My husband and I both enjoy the artful parent and want to sign-up for the eCourse. Is there a way for both of us to take the course?
Yes, absolutely! A family working together on this would be wonderful! Just create one log-in (name + password) that you can both use. And make sure to give me both of your email addresses so I can add both of you to the facebook group.
I would really like to take your course, but my schedule is so full I know I won’t be able to follow all of it. Would you recommend that I sign up now or wait?
I would sign up now, if you know you’d like to take the course! Some of the ideas and activities will be easy and quick to incorporate, if you wanted to sneak in a bit here and there during your busy time. Also, as part of this first group of people taking the course, you'll be able to take it again anytime if you wanted to. I'll likely offer it again in January, just so you know...
When does the course start and finish?
The course starts on Monday, June 13th and ends on Friday, August 19th.
How long do I have access to the course?
You'll have access to this course throughout the course period (through August 2016). In addition, you can re-take the course any time I offer it again.
You mention that the course materials are available after the class. Does that mean that I can see the information at a later date if something didn't sink in?
Once the course is over (after August), I will probably take things down for a while and update everything based on feedback from this first round. And then when I offer it again (Jan 1, 2017 is my plan), you can take the course all over again if you like and have access to the updated and expanded material. However, you can download and/or print anything from the course this summer and keep it to refer to again and again.
Do you offer credits for The Child Associate Development Credential with your course?
I don't offer credits for CDA at the moment. Sorry. It's something I may look into for the future though.
Is there a certificate granted at the end of the course?
I don't have any certificate planned at the moment, but that's a good question. If I offered one, it would likely be a fun and informal one about artful parenting.
I am wondering if I can view the course at any time that fits my schedule or is it "live" and available on certain days and times only?
So here's how the course will work... Each Monday, I'll post that week's lesson and materials on the course website and send you an email letting you know that the new lesson is up. However, once I post the new week's materials, it will stay up throughout the course. So on week 3, you'll still be able to see all the materials from weeks 1 and 2. Also, all the materials are available for download and printing. So you can save everything to your computer and even print them out to put in a 3 ring binder or something (and keep forever).
I am interested in your course but would be taking it as a teacher rather than a parent. Is that okay?
I'd imagine that some of the material would be relevant to you and some not so much as I am focusing on parents with this particular course. Because of your work, though, I think you would enjoy the course and find plenty of information to use with your students and to share with their families. You can always give the course a try and if you find it's not ideal for you, you can ask for a refund (within 30 days).
What if I am unhappy with the course?
I would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact me in the first 30 days and I will give you a full refund.
Any other questions?
If you have a question that is not answered here or in the course description above, please feel free to e-mail me at!

This course is not open for enrollment.
